Vnc and Palm via BT

Hello from Germany,

I’m new to this list, but have been using OSXvnc for quite some time.
Today I’m asking for help on the following issue :

I’d like to connect my Palm Tungsten T3 to my G4 desktop running under 10.3.9. I have searched the web all over but I have found little info. My guess is that I havent yet found the right settings on the PDA that OSXvnc understands because nothing happens - the log only indicates that the server is listening, although the BT connection is working correctly (with the Salling Clicker for example). BTW, I’m not very network savvy.

TIA

First you need to make sure that the Palm is at least getting to the server. When you connect with your handheld look in your VNC log for a message like:

2007-02-21 10:48:02.015 OSXvnc-server Protocol version 3.3
2007-02-21 10:48:02.016 OSXvnc-server Pixel format for client X.X.X.X:

If you don’t see anything showing up in the log then you aren’t even getting to the server and it’s a networking issue with the device. Unfortunately we aren’t very familiar with the networking issues for handheld and probably can’t offer much advice beyond that. If you are at least starting the connection then we can definitely help you determine why you aren’t getting full sharing.

I fear that I’m not getting to the server and that I’ll have to try to see if the Palm people can shed some light.
BTW, this is what the log says:

Those last two lines suggest that the server was stopped (which will happen if you log out). Just double check to make sure that the server is running when you try to connect.

Right, I’m sorry, I copied the wrong message

This is the correct one:
2007-02-21 19:27:38 +0100 Starting OSXvnc Version 1.4

The Tungsten tries to hook up but never gets beyond the initializing message and then stops saying that connecting is impossible.
