Vince Server Manual and OSX SnowLeopard Setup

I’m attempting to set up Vince Server for external viewing/control of my Home Mac and can’t seem to follow along in the manual, particularly in the Opening of a VNC Port. Are these directions written for an earlier version of the OS?

Thank you,

Dave

Yes, the documentation doesn’t cover OS X 10.6 yet. You’ll find the firewall settings under the Security panel in the System Preferences. You can add an exception for Vine there.

Got it figured out and am able to make an external connections from outside my home network. Now to see if I can speed up the screen draw. Any tips there? It takes several seconds for mouse movements to appear on my remote desktop, which makes navigation complicated. Is this just the way it is when using Vine over the internet as apposed to on your own network?
