Memory Leak in Vine Viewer

Over the past hour I’ve been watching the memory footprint of Vine Viewer 1.1 rise and rise (closing/opening connections doesn’t seem to change the rising slope).

At this point, after 1 hour and with no connections open, Activity Monitor reports the Real Memory used as 228MB and the VirtualRam as 1.5GB.

Is this normal? I’m no programmer but I’m surprised that the memory is not released and/or reduced when connections are closed.

Yeah, that does sound like a leak. Can you verify a couple of things.

  1. Do you have the “Update connection availability” enabled?

  2. In your scenario you say you aren’t connected to anything currently, were you ever in your run?

  3. It was set to the default “Once at Startup”

  4. Yes, I connected to three different hosts. I then closed all the sessions and noticed that the ram usage continued to climb.
