How can I “hardclose” an app on iOS 8?
You’ll need to enable AssistiveTouch on the iOS device under General > Accessibility. This will give you access to a soft Home button through the AssistiveTouch interface. You can double click the soft Home button to access the multitasking screen, locate the app you want to close, and use the Swipe command to close it. Unfortunately the restrictions placed on us via Apple’s automation APIs doesn’t allow us to access the Home button directly.
