connecting through router

I can successfully connect to a G4 Powerbook (from a G4 PowerMac using cotVNC + osxVNC) when the server is directly connected to the dsl modem, but not when it’s connected through a Belkin router. We went into the router configuration and disabled the firewall. I still could not connect through the router. Any clue on what the issue is here?

It looks like you’ve solved your own problem but for those who might have similar problems…

If your router supports port-forwarding you will want to go ahead and forward port 5900 (or whichever VNC port you are using) from the router to the INTERNAL IP address of the machine you are trying to VNC to.
