Bitmask data in imageinfo

Just curious what/where this might be coming from. Had a PR from a coworker and first time I had seen it. Its not on all images, just a few so trying to understand it is all

Hello! I can see from your screenshot all the capture data (EPF_HyperV_SUT as the CaptureHost, Adaptive as the SearchAlgorithm, etc) but I’m not sure there’s enough info to get the whole picture.

I’ve never seen bitmask data in any .imageinfo files myself, but I do know they can contain other data than what we’re used to seeing under the right conditions. That “HasAlpha = 1;” indicates the image or pixel data contains transparency information (an alpha channel). This bitmask data could have been documented as part of the testing logic in comparing an expected image with the encountered one.

A few more details on the testing scenario, the overall setup and whether this image capture represented by the .imageinfo file had actual content would help narrow down the mystery

Interesting find. I’ve only seen this on a handful of images as well, so I’m curious about the source. It doesn’t appear consistently across all images, which makes me think it’s related to how those specific images were built or tagged. Let us know if you uncover the root cause.

It looks like your message got cut off at the end (“make m comment answer”), and you forgot to include the snippet, code, or image tag you’re referencing!
Best Regards

Hello,

If you can paste the specific line, file extension, or context you are looking at, I can tell you exactly what it is, why it only applies to certain images, and where it’s coming from.
