Is there an API available for TIGs?

I presume they use some kind of network-based protocol to communicate between eggPlant / TIG and so believe it could be theoretically possible to write an Adobe Air application to act as a TIG for text rendered by the Flash player.

I have evaluated eggPlant in the past and been generally impressed though ultimately had reservations based on the maintenance of test scripts. The application I need to test is available in multiple languages and so the ability to automate generation of text is essential.

Flash player renders text in many different ways so to be able to reliably match images with text a custom TIG is the only viable solution.
