VNC Viewer not prompting for SSH password

Hi,

I am running Vine Viewer under OS X 10.4.8, and connecting to a mac running Vine Server 2.0 via ssh (i.e. the Connect Securely (SSH) checkbox in the connection dialog is checked for that mac). My reading of the Vine Viewer help file is that leaving the SSH password field blank will make the program prompt for the password when connecting, but this does not happen. The console log on the mac running the viewer has these entries

Vine Viewer[1610] Trying to connect - 10.0.1.2: 5902
Vine Viewer[1610] SSH Connect: Local Port 5952, is in use, trying another
Vine Viewer[1610] SSH Connect: Local Port 5953, is in use, trying another
Vine Viewer[1610] SSH Connect: Local Port 5954, is in use, trying another
Vine Viewer[1610] SSH Trying to connect Reports:
Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic,password,keyboard-interactive).

Vine Viewer[1610] Connection failed:
Unable to Connect To VNC Server through SSH
Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic,password,keyboard-interactive).

It’s not a big problem, since I can click the Edit button for that mac in the Connection List window and enter the password, but it would be more convenient if I was prompted for the password.

Thanks,
