Jonathan,

Thanks for the full-screen feature in the new Vine Viewer.
It works great on both my G4 Powerbook and my Core Duo iMac under 10.5.1 !

John

This really is a solid update. My favorite feature is clipboard access while running the Vine server as a system service.

I’ve got one tiny feature request for a future point release:

When minimizing windows in Vine Viewer, I think the minimized icon should retain its proportions. Right now, when I connect to my wife’s MacBook (1200x800 resolution) and then minimize the connection, the miniaturized picture of her desktop is crammed into a 1:1 square. For example, Leopard’s Screen Share app minimizes this way.

well I still run into the following problem on what I havent received a solution so far here http://www.redstonesoftware.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=3288#3288

[quote=“rand0m”]Hi there,
I run Leopard 10.5.1

  • localized keyboard
I use German keyboard layout and for some reason “b” isnt interpreted thought capital “B” is, all other chars are interpreted correctly.

any hints on this? maybe this was simply forgotten?

This is a shot in the dark, but it sounds like it could be related to the problem I posted about here:

http://www.redstonesoftware.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=880

JonathanOSX posted a possible solution that seems to be working for me so far.

well i could try, but all other characters are fine, except the small “b”. I checked it, so I thought it might simply got forgotten in the interpreterslist or similar …

Ok, it’s not just you. We see what you are reporting with lower-case b not being typed when loading a German keyboard (Vine set to “Use Current Keyboard”).

In the interim it appears to work for us if we set Vine Server to use the Unicode Keyboard (and set that Keyboard using Sys Prefs -> International…).

That’s an interesting bug, why that one key wouldn’t work is very strange. We’ll investigate and report back when we have found a fix.

We’ve just posted an updated Vine Server Beta that we hope addresses this problem. Please read this notice – http://www.redstonesoftware.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1206
