Had an old version of Vine installed and it stopped working with leopard one day. So upgraded to the latest last week and it works great. Only problem is there is no authentication when I connect from any computer. Tried clearing the password and stopping and starting the server but nothing. When I delete the password it gives me a warning that no password is set. I enter a new one and it still does not ask me for one.
Any ideas?
I am not able to duplicate your problem here in our labs. On our gigabit network lan we are able to get OS X 10.4.x/10.5.1 Vine Viewer 3.0 connected with password validation enabled (and enforced) to OS X 10.4.x/10.5.1 Vine Server 3.0. You need to Restart Server to Affect Changes when you change your Vine Server settings including your authorization password or when you disable this feature.
Yeah, I did restart.
Well, when i get home I will delete the prefs file and try it again. Maybe something is messed up there.
