Making VNC Play nice with Virtual Box

I’m trying to move from Parallels to Virtual Box for my VMs… can’t get RealVNC Personal or Free to play nice… simply won’t connect.

  1. No authentication
  2. Firewall off.
  3. All the setting recommended in the Eggplant Setup Help for VNC 4

Anyone got any tips?

Oh, and I’m using XP Pro… so VNC Free should work.

It would help if you could be specific about the error you get when you try to connect – there are a number of reasons for a connection failing and the actual message can indicate what the problem is.

What are the IP addresses of the two machines?

Does Virtual Box itself have a firewall?
