Eggplant Advisory -- hold off on Mac OS X 10.4.9 upgrade

We have recently received reports of a couple of new issues with Eggplant which we believe may be related to running on Mac OS X 10.4.9, the latest update from Apple.

If you haven’t upgraded your Eggplant machine yet, we suggest staying on 10.4.8 for now until we can make a better determination of the actual cause of these problems.

If you have already upgraded your system, please let us know if you experience any problems, including those outlined here or any others (send reports to our support at redstonesoftware address).

The problems we are currently seeing that may be related to the 10.4.9 upgrade include some issues with reliably receiving the clipboard contents from the SUT in a script (the SUT was also running 10.4.9 in this case), and an inability to authorize and run the Eggplant Floating License Server on 10.4.9 (for those with floating licenses).

Again, if you have any information to share that you think may be relevant, we would be happy to hear from you. Thanks

We seem to have tracked down these issues and 10.4.9 did not appear to directly be the culprit, so at this time we have no reason for folks to hold off on the 10.4.9 upgrade.
