Can Vine Viewer connect to x11vnc?

Can Vine Viewer 1.1 connect to x11vnc? I’m having no luck.

x11vnc: 0.7.2
invoked with command
x11vnc -forever -shared -viewonly -accept popup -bg

It should work just fine, can you describe what’s not working with your scenario? How far does the connection get? Is there anything in the log at the server side?

Will connect if x11vnc is invoked with:

x11vnc -forever -viewonly -accept xmessage

Doesn’t connect if x11vnc is invoked with:

x11vnc -forever -vieweonly -accept popup
