I just downloaded OSXVNC, and Tried to connect to it from my Windows XP Machine using RealVNC v4.2.5. The Mac as ARD turned off and firewall off. I have OSX VNC using port 5900. I tried connecting with REALVNC Client and get “The connection closed unexpectedly Do you wish to attempt to reconnect to IP Address…” Keeps doing that if I click yes… Any ideas?
Is 4.2.5 a Beta release? We seem to be working fine with 4.1.2 which AFAIK is the latest release.
Look at the OSXvnc log, see if it’s showing any connection attempts. Also try running it on another port just to make sure you aren’t hitting an old ARD server or something.
